Gig in NYC this Friday 9/16/05

Come see Amy with Sam and Barry as they round out the sound with bass! Sam and Barry will switch off on bass and guitar as Amy does the usual (the fun songs - I mean, it’s a BAR for Chrissakes… nobody’s there to hear me warble about my horrible childhood).

Details on the SHOWS page of this site (see at top of this page). The Hells’ Kitchen bar is called Siberia and is a leatherpunk wilderness. Gay, though. Straight people welcome, of course. We have the whole basement to ourselves for the concert! Whooohooo! Bring the weed! Warning: floor may or may not be sticky.

Amy’s healing songs selected for compilations CD for sexual violence survivors

Two of Amy’s healing songs, “48 Hours” and “You Are My Spoon” have been selected for a compilation CD for survivors of sexual abuse and sexual violence called “Mindful Lullabyes”

Here is the announcement from Haullie Free, the creator of the project:

Mindful Lullabies

A Musical Compilation CD for Survivors of Sexual Violence

100% of the proceeds go directly to RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network)

This CD is an amazing collection of songs by Survivor and Supporter Artists Nation-Wide such as Alice Marie, Amy Fix, Rachel Sage, Jennifer Woodhouse, Jason Spooner and George Robertson.

There are 10 songs on this beautiful CD. Each song tells a story, a language all it’s own about issues such as, Sexual Violence, Child Abuse, Incest, Domestic Violence, Prostitution, Social Silence, Depression, Self-Injury, Innocence, Empowerment, Connection, Longing, Self-Enrichment and acceptance.

Each Artist and each track was selected by Haullie Free, the founder of ‘Surviving The Truth’, an Audio Documentary for Survivors of Sexual Abuse and Domestic Violence: http://surviving.alltheseyears.net , to Inspire Survivors, Spread Awareness and provide hope in the hearts of many. You may listen to audio clips at the purchase page.

Please support ‘Mindful Lullabies’ and it’s efforts to promote awareness through song, by getting your copy today :)

Purchase Link: http://www.cafepress.com/survivingtruth.

Amy is proud and honored to be included in this amazing project. The artwork on the CD packaging is gorgeous, and Haullie amazed Amy by completing the project, like instantaneously! How do some people get things done so quickly and so well? Amy procrastinates on almost everything she does! Fear, fear…

Well, Haullie is impressive and driven to promote healing with her various projects, and you should definitely check her stuff out!

Spam in my comments!

Hi visitors,

Just warning you that these comments areas have been attacked by sick spammers who should be shot. I just can’t sit here and delete them all right now - I get about 10 new ones every fucking day. Being that I am a busy lass, I will have to figure out a way to get rid of them once and for all. Until then, OBVIOUSLY the spams on this site are here against my will. Feel free to add nice, non-spam comments so that something nice is going on in my blog…

:) Amy

On the road ‘05

Amy is bizzy planning her spring tour. First, she’ll head to Minnesota in February (don’t worry; she’s from Syracuse & Batavia New York and is not afraid of a little wintery action. Last January she went to Grand Forks North Dakota to perform & lecture during their record temperature of 40 below!) Amy will perform Fri & Sat at the LGBT Conference at St. Cloud U. Then it’s off to Montreal for the annual Folk Alliance conference and a day of skiiing. Amy will probably showcase at the Folk Alliance, times TBA.

April in Kent State, Ohio, and then who knows?…
